{"id":4287,"date":"2025-07-03T14:13:10","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T12:13:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lifehaya.pefc.es\/the-life-haya-project-joins-other-projects-at-the-9th-spanish-forestry-congress\/"},"modified":"2025-12-16T20:48:51","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T19:48:51","slug":"the-life-haya-project-joins-other-projects-at-the-9th-spanish-forestry-congress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lifehaya.pefc.es\/en\/the-life-haya-project-joins-other-projects-at-the-9th-spanish-forestry-congress\/","title":{"rendered":"THE LIFE HAYA PROJECT JOINS OTHER PROJECTS AT THE 9TH SPANISH FORESTRY CONGRESS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The main objective was to address issues such as climate adaptation and sustainable forest management.<\/h2>\n\n<p>As part of the Spanish Forestry Congress held in Gij\u00f3n, the<em> <strong>LIFE Haya (Hardwood For the Home)<\/strong><\/em> project was one of the highlights of the exchange session between initiatives focused on climate change <strong>adaptation, forest health and the ecological recovery of forest landscapes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>La sesi\u00f3n arranc\u00f3 con una serie de presentaciones sobre proyectos innovadores que trabajan por la sostenibilidad y la restauraci\u00f3n ambiental. La intervenci\u00f3n de <strong>Silvia G\u00f3mez<\/strong>, en representaci\u00f3n de LIFE Haya, puso el foco en los retos que enfrentan los hayedos ib\u00e9ricos ante el cambio clim\u00e1tico y los incendios forestales, y en la importancia de una <strong>gesti\u00f3n forestal proactiva basada en planificaci\u00f3n territorial, resiliencia ecol\u00f3gica y sanidad vegetal<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p>La propuesta de LIFE Haya se destaca por integrar soluciones t\u00e9cnicas y estrat\u00e9gicas que refuerzan la capacidad de los bosques caducifolios para resistir perturbaciones crecientes, con un enfoque transferible a otros sistemas forestales europeos.<\/p>\n\n<p>Junto a este proyecto, se presentaron otras iniciativas como <strong>LIFE Carbon2Mine<\/strong>, centrado en la restauraci\u00f3n de zonas mineras; <strong>LIFE+ REB<\/strong>, que apuesta por la reforestaci\u00f3n de rebollares en paisajes semi\u00e1ridos; y <strong>Revierte<\/strong>, una iniciativa nacional que promueve la econom\u00eda rural a trav\u00e9s del aprovechamiento sostenible de los recursos forestales.<\/p>\n\n<p>La jornada finaliz\u00f3 con los proyectos <strong>LIFE Adapaleppo<\/strong> y <strong>LIFE Agroforadapt<\/strong>, que promueven soluciones adaptativas frente al cambio clim\u00e1tico en entornos mediterr\u00e1neos, con enfoques en la resiliencia del pino carrasco y la integraci\u00f3n agroforestal.<\/p>\n\n<p>Con su participaci\u00f3n, <strong>LIFE Haya<\/strong> reafirma su papel como referente en la <strong>protecci\u00f3n activa de los bosques frente al cambio global<\/strong>, contribuyendo al intercambio de conocimiento t\u00e9cnico y al avance de pol\u00edticas forestales basadas en ciencia y sostenibilidad.<\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/lifehaya.pefc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Congreso-forestal-Espanol-2025-Gijon-2-1-1024x683.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/lifehaya.pefc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Congreso-forestal-Espanol-2025-Gijon-2-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3718\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lifehaya.pefc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Congreso-forestal-Espanol-2025-Gijon-2-1-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/lifehaya.pefc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Congreso-forestal-Espanol-2025-Gijon-2-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lifehaya.pefc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Congreso-forestal-Espanol-2025-Gijon-2-1-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lifehaya.pefc.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Congreso-forestal-Espanol-2025-Gijon-2-1.jpg 1379w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n<div style=\"height:18px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The beech forests of Vaca and Navarre, a key refuge for bat diversity<\/h2>\n\n<p>As part of the Congress, the Life Haya project presented a poster on the activity and diversity of bats in the Basque-Navarre beech forests, a study led by Alejandro Cantero from the Hazi Foundation, a partner organisation in the project. Among the conclusions, it is noteworthy that beech forests offer favourable microclimatic conditions for bats, and that differences in activity and diversity are related to forest structure, humidity and vegetation cover.
