WEBINAR ON CERTIFICATION OF SUSTAINABLE TIMBER CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

Pablo Narváez, responsible for Chain of Custody and use of the PEFC Spain Marks, participated in the webinar ‘Wood as a sustainable construction solution: PEFC certification of projects’ organised by PEFC Galicia in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia, and other speakers such as Xilonor, Maderas Rubén, AITIM, Ezcurra and Ouzande arquitectura.

In this webinar, Narváez detailed how PEFC certification of construction projects ensures traceability and highlights the use of certified wood, and showed some examples of buildings such as the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Sydney underground or the Hospital de la Concepción in Burgos, among others.
He also mentioned that, within the framework of the LIFE HAYA project, a pilot building will be constructed with PEFC certification as a construction project, Passivhaus and LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) under the Level(s) framework.
