The consortium reviewed the progress of WP4 during the Rebuild 2025 conference, focusing on the development of glued laminated beech beams and mixed beech-conifer CLT panels
On April 24, the LIFE HAYA project took advantage of the Rebuild 2025 to hold a working meeting among several of its partners with the aim of reviewing the status of some of the project’s activities, specifically the development of new structural products with high added value made from beech wood.
Silvia Gómez and Salomé Temiño, representing Cesefor, and Jordi Navarro, from ITeC, participated in the meeting. While Salomé Temiño and Jordi Navarro attended the conference in person, Silvia Gómez joined the meeting via videoconference.

During the meeting, the industrial partners reviewed the progress made in developing two of the main lines of work within the work package:
- The development of glued-laminated beams made of beech wood, led by Gámiz.
- The development of a composite CLT panel made of beech and conifers, developed by Egoin.
Holding the meeting as part of Rebuild also made it possible to meet beforehand with Egoin representatives attending the fair, which facilitated an exchange of views on the project’s progress and the next steps for validating these innovative construction solutions.
These types of coordination meetings are essential for ensuring the smooth progress of the LIFE HAYA project, fostering collaboration among the various partners and enabling joint monitoring of technical developments that will help promote the use of beech wood in structural applications and sustainable construction.
Through initiatives like this one, LIFE HAYA continues to make progress toward its goal of demonstrating the potential of European beech wood as an innovative material for the construction sector, promoting new products with higher added value that support sustainable forest management and a low-carbon economy.
