On 25 June, Ezcaray Town Council held the conference ‘THE BEECH: Forestry and new uses for its wood,’ organised by the Regional Ministry of Agriculture of La Rioja in collaboration with the LIFE Haya project on sustainable management of the beech tree.

On 8 May, the partners of the LIFE Haya – Hardwood For The Home project held the 2nd Expert Committee, which was widely attended by technicians from various Central and Territorial Services, to discuss the progress and objectives of the project.

The main objective of the event is to create a forum for discussion on close-to-nature forestry in beech forests, exploring wood products, economic opportunities and issues associated with beech forest management, promoting sustainable forest management.

From 12 to 14 February, the 1st Conference of Foresters and Territorial Managers was held in Bizkaia, focusing on forestry close to nature in beech forests, with a master class by Froilán Sevilla Martínez, territorial head of Castilla y León.
