FIRST NETWORKING BETWEEN PROJECTS DURING CIMAD 2024

LIFE Wood for Future, LIFE+REB and LIFE Haya pool their activities to valorise local wood

In the framework of the last CIMAD 2024 held in Madrid, the LIFE Wood for Future, LIFE+REB and LIFE Haya projects shared the objectives and activities developed by each of the projects and evaluated the possible interactions or synergies. The three projects have in common the mitigation of climate change from the enhancement of poplar, oak and beech wood respectively, as the axis to generate a bioeconomy in each of the different territories in which these forest species are located.

Four CIMAD 2024 participants pose with a European Union flag and a LIFE project rollup behind them at a networking event on LIFE forestry projects.

The three projects are also chain projects, ranging from actions at the level of forestry and forest owners to full-scale demonstration of new structural products made of wood by local industry in real buildings. In all three projects, regulatory tests are also carried out for the recognition of these species as structural wood. A breakthrough in the wood bioeconomy sector in Spain as a whole, made up of the three projects. The networking day was attended by members of the UGR, Cesefor and PEFC Spain.
