LIFE HAYA PROJECT HOLDS ITS 5TH EXPERT COMMITTEE WITH MORE THAN 60 PARTICIPANTS

The LIFE HAYA project has successfully held its 5th Expert Committee, bringing together more than 60 representatives of administrations, companies and project partners. This meeting has served as a key forum to analyse the situation of beech in Navarra, a region that concentrates the largest volume of felling and has a long tradition and a consolidated industrial fabric around this forest species.

The committee was attended by technicians from the Government of Navarre, provincial councils of the Basque Country and La Rioja, as well as members of BASKEGUR, the Basque Timber Association. During the day, the attendees visited the Barbiur sawmill, a company with more than three generations of experience in the sector, certified in the PEFC chain of custody for its production.
