Within the framework of the event, the LIFE Haya Project highlighted the potential of beech wood sourced from sustainably managed forests, emphasizing its role in reducing the carbon footprint and its contribution to more responsible construction aligned with current climate challenges.

During the session, in which PEFC España participated, the progress of the project was presented, focusing on improving the resilience of beech forests to climate change through a sustainable forest management model.

Two attendees talk next to a display stand featuring informational materials from PEFC and the LIFE HAYA.

In this context, the new classification of beech wood was presented, a key development that will make it possible to optimize its use, improve its valorization within the supply chain, and promote its application in higher value-added products and construction solutions.
